Music Update + Making Cutscenes

Howdy, folks!

PROGRESS UPDATE

I'm continuing to bumble along making level two! I'd say the art assets are maybe 90% complete, and I've got 3/4 musical themes I wanted for the level done! Now I'm messing with one of the most time consuming things... Cutscenes! Gotta get the timing to be just right...

As for when the release will be, I did the math, and, at the pace I'm working, the final game should be complete in 1.63 years!

If that seems oddly precise, it's because I took the number of days it took me to make the demo, added a vacation buffer, and then multiplied that by the number of stages I have planned out in the game. I feel pretty comfortable with the estimate, since the demo production time had some breaks included, along with a couple false starts, but we'll see. :)

I'm having such an incredibly awesome time watching all the video playthroughs that people are making of the demo!!! It's super fascinating to see what people find, and what they miss. I am happy and amused to see that there are a couple secrets that most people walk past, heheheh.

Music!

During the week, I took a break from what I think of as "game design proper" to pump out some tunes for the next section! Making music is a more intense headspace than game making for me, for sure... It takes way more focus! I always leave a composing session drained, but happy.

Here's the tune I'm happiest with so far: "Lab Rat" https://meebob.bandcamp.com/track/lab-rat

It is one of the boss themes for this level!

(As you can see, I also figured, while I was at it, I should package up the Doggo Quest soundtrack and put it online! You can listen to what I've got so far here: https://meebob.bandcamp.com/album/doggo-quest-ost!)

Over and out!
